Deployment problem - Insufficient Rights

Dear friends,
problem with Deployment Reports to Server.
when i click the deploy, i am getting the following error.
The permissions granted to user 'domain/machinename' are insufficient for
performing this operation.
pls assist me.
muraliIs the account your are trying to deploy with an account known on the report
server, and ifit is does it have publish rights in the report server? this
might be a the cause of this issue

Deploying a Reporting Model

I'm trying to deploy a Reporting Model (.rmdl), but it continues to give the
standard error message of "The permissions granted to user <me> are
insufficient for performing this operation".
I am an Administrator on the computer and have given myself every possible
permission in the Reporting Services web UI.
Any ideas?

JustinWell, it took me for-ev-er, but I found the problem.
The "Content Manager" role did not have any of the Report Model permissions
checked. I'm guessing that this is because I upgraded from the SQL 2000
version to 2005 and it was being nice by not giving Content Manager more
permissions than what it already had.
To resolve this problem under "Configure item-level role definitions" click
Content Manager and make sure everything is check. Specifically the "Manage
Models" and "View Models" permissions.

I am not able to deploy report to report server, I have this error:

Hi Jim,

which Credentials give to the underlaying Shared Data Source?

The User which is mentionend in your Exception looks like a anonymous User.

If you give Windows Credentials to the Data Source it should work.

If not, set Full-Trust in the Configuration-File of the Report-Server.

Shared Data source has SQL server user and I am able to access database. This looks like some network user. If I remove anonymous user, it is working but report is not accessible. So how can I make it full-trust?

I'm trying to deploy reports from the dev. environment and I'm getting the
error:
'The permissions granted to users 'server\user' are insufficient for
performing this operation.'
That is not the user that I am logged onto my development machine,
nor is it a user on the report server. Where can I find the source of
this error. The 'server\user' must be embedded somewhere.

MarcDoes your RS server use Basic auth turned on? This could be the user you
are seeing. You might also want to check if you have anonymous access
turned on, if so then every user will seem like the same user.

Hi ,
i have set up to db roles "Admin" which have been
granted select , delete , insert , update
and "test" which has been granted select and DENY update
i have set up a user "user1" account which is part of
the "Admin" and "test" db role.
In this case will "user1" be denied the ability to
UPDATE ?
AND if i also set up user1 as a system administrator
fixed server role besides the 2 db role above , will the
DENY update has any effect on user1 ?

Ans: - Sysadmin role will override all the roles or Deny permissions. The
user with SYADMIN role can do any functionality in the SQL server
as well as all databases.

apply to a user, THEN subtract out all of the DENY permissions... ( Deny
overrides a grant.)
