Derived column in SQL Server 2005 SSIS

Hi,

I am trying to upload a csv file into a destination SQL Server table using Data FLow objects in MS SQL Server 2005 SSIS. My destination table X has a date column while my source data file (for which i have a flat file connection) does not have a date column. I created a Derived column for date using the system date function in my Source data object and ran the package but it returned errors. I changed the data type of the derived column but I still get errors.

is there any other way i can get the date on the fly i.e generate a date for the incoming source file and map that (insert into) to the destination table ?

Post your errors here and we can then better help you. Also ensure that you have the correct date types flowing into the given date column.|||

Devived column name - Name for your date field

Devived column - should be <add as new column>

The expression columns should be GETDATE()

On the advanced Editor - Make sure to select the date name to be used in the output columns.

Deploying web app, which SQL files do I upload?..

I'm working on a web application that uses SQL Server 2000. Once I'm ready to upload my website to a production server, I need to know how to upload my SQL Server database files to the server. Are there actual files that can be uploaded? I've only deployed a website that works with MySQL to a production server, and there were no files to upload... the database had to be created on the server, and then the data itself had to be exported to text files (on my computer), then imported/uploaded to the production server using SQL statements...

How do I do this?

Ask your provider, systemadministrator or whoever manages this.

Our hosting operation does NOT allow uploads of sql database fiules - you are supposed to create a new database and use the copy database wizard out of SQL Server's enterprise manager.|||hi

Deploying a report model

I'm trying to upload a report model to my server using the web interface, the same way I'd upload a report. When I attempt this I get the message

"The DataSourceView is missing for the SemanticModel. SemanticModel

must have exactly one DataSourceView element. (MissingDataSourceView)"

How do I fix this so that I can upload the smdl file?

When you deploy a report model from a Visual Studio Model Designer project, it actually embeds the Data Source View (.dsv) inside the Semantic Model (.smdl) file. You can see how this is done by downloading an existing model from the report server.

When you upload the model file yourself, you will need to embed the DSV manually.
